The European Commission’s decision to propose abolishing the visas for Moldovans is a success of the Moldovan diplomatic service, said analysts and political commentators invited to a program on Publika TV channel. According to them, this success will oblige the authorities to implement the provisions of the plan of action assumed before the EU. Otherwise, there will follow only disillusions, IPN reports.
Expert of the Foreign Policy Association Victoria Bucataru said that this message was awaited by the Moldovan authorities. It is a real success not only of the authorities, but also of the people. Time and political will is needed for implementing reforms. If the authorities deviate from the chosen course, they will be penalized.

Political commentator Vitali Catana said that when the Moldovans are able to travel visa free to the EU, the dialogue with the Transnistrian region will intensify. It is important that the Moldovan authorities remain consistent in their actions.
The European Commission announced that immediately after the Vilnius EaP Summit, they will submit a legislative proposal to abolish the visa regime for Moldovan travelers.
