Decision on municipal audiovisual is a democracy regress – political parties
The “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie” Political Bloc says that local authorities’ intention to alienate “Antena C” and "Euro TV Chisinau” stations is a regress from the democratic achievements reached by our society, an attempt against the interests of the capital residents and an effort to transform information sources into “voiceless instruments obedient to the power”, a declaration of the party says.
According to the cited source “Antena C” and “Euro TV Chisinau” stations became the most popular information source for Chisinau inhabitants, considered the most objective, truthful and independent from Moldova, which is an obvious proof of professionalism of the staff-members of these companies.
The party supports the idea of revising the decision on reorganisation via alienation of the municipal public audiovisual adopted by the Municipal Council. It suggests that a commission is created, including representatives of the two stations, which would work out projects. Proposals coming from councillors and civil society are also suggested to be taken into consideration.
CMC decided upon the reorganisation via alienation of the 2 institutions on November 30. On Tuesday, 3 municipal councillors told a press conference that they will solicit that an extraordinary session is summoned, in which they will request that another reorganisation project is voted, because, as they say, the actual decision has been voted with breaches of legislation. The session didn’t take place on December 7, as it was solicited, because the interim mayor Vasile Ursu acused councillors of faking some signatures. The authors of the petition reconfirmed the validity of 17 signatures and solicited that the session is held on Thursday, December 14.
