Decision makers of Health Ministry and Licensing Chamber under investigation

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office is investigating decision makers of the Health Ministry and the Licensing Chamber. Three criminal cases were started for exceeding one’s authority, negligence and forgery in documents. According to the prosecutors, Health Minister Andrei Usatyi signed an illegal order to transmit the areas intended for drugstores from family doctors centers to the joint stock company SanFarm-prim. The order was challenged by the prosecutors in court. The anticorruption prosecutor who is conducting the investigation Ruslan Botnaru has told Info-Prim Neo that two of the three criminal cases were opened against decision makers of the Ministry of Health. “We didn’t start a criminal case against the health minister only as more persons may be investigated. If we investigate only the minister, there will appear impediments in holding accountable other co-participants,” he stated. The third case is against officials of the Licensing Chamber, who are accused of negligence. The Health Ministry made approaches to the Licensing Chamber, asking that it allowed derogations from the law for illegally locating drugstores.
