The debates on the bill that obliges the foreigners and stateless persons who enter Moldova through the Transnistrian region to register at migration points were interrupted after the Communist MPs blocked the Parliament’s rostrum. Initially, the Speaker announced a break of 10 minutes in order to calm things down. But the sitting continued with debates on the next bill, with Igor Corman providing no explanations, IPN reports.
The Communist MPs consider that if this bill is passed, the rights of the persons who have the nationality of other states, such as Ukraine and Russia, but reside in the Transnistrian region will be violated.
Bill rapporteur, Deputy Minister of the Interior Dumitru Ursachi said the provisions of this law do not refer to persons living in the eastern districts of Moldova, even if they have the nationality of another state.
Under the bill, the foreign citizens and stateless persons who enter Moldova via Transnistria must register at migration points within 72 hours. Otherwise, they will be fined 200 to 400 lei.
