More than 1 million people have died because of COVID-19 all over the world so far. The virus claimed the largest number of deaths in the U.S. – over 209,000, IPN reports.

The death toll in Brazil stands at over 141,700, in India at 95,500, in Mexico at 76,400, in the UK at 41,900.

The number of confirmed cases of infection in the over 200 affected countries exceeds 33.3 million.

China, where the pandemic started, reported about 85,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and fewer than 4,000 casualties.

Moldova by now has got almost 50,800 infections with COVID-19, with the death toll standing at 1,287.
