A traumatologist who worked at the Dondușeni District Hospital succumbed to COVID-19. This is Vasile Hîrbu who was aged 70. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, 48 healthcare workers died from COVID-19 so far, IPN reports.
The Ministry reported 15 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus on October 26. The death toll now stands at 1,700.
A number of 308 new infections were confirmed today. Five of these are cases of import, being brought from Turkey, the U.S and Romania. Of the 308 infected persons, 18 are healthcare workers.
Currently, 802 patients with COVID-19 are in a serious state and 43 of them were put on a ventilator.
Moldova by now has got 71,800 cases of COVID-19, with 17,400 cases being now active.
