The number of deaths associated with the novel coronavirus rose to 521 after the Ministry of Health on June 27 announced six more cases of death. There were also confirmed 304 new infections, IPN reports.

Among those who succumbed to COVID-19 is a nurse. The 67-year-old woman until this March worked at the Orhei District Hospital.

Of the total number of those confirmed with the virus on June 27, 25 are healthcare workers. The number of employees of the health system who contracted the virus so far totals 2,393.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2,161 tests were done today and 1,607 of them were primary ones. Of the 304 new cases of COVID-19, one was imported from Ukraine, while the rest are local transmission cases.

The number of persons who became infected with the novel coronavirus now stands at 16,080. As many as 8,963 persons got cured.
