The cause of death of the five-month-old boy from Orhei district wasn’t food poisoning as it was alleged. Prosecutor of Orhei district Tatiana Talpa has told IPN that the child died as a result of cardiopulmonary insufficiency caused by acute bronchitis and bilateral pneumonia.

The results of the examination were made public in two months. At the beginning of February, the boy and his twin sister were hospitalized and the children’s mother told doctors that she gave them yogurt to eat. The boy was already in clinical death, while the girl was shortly discharged.

A criminal case was started. Prosecutor Tatiana Talpa said the case will be dropped following the examination of the published results.
