An 18-year-old man from the city of Strășeni died after the car he was driving flipped over near Lake Ghidighici. Silvia Vetcu, spokeswoman for the Strășeni Police Inspectorate, said that the other 2 passengers, 15 and 18-year-old males, did not suffer serious injuries.

The Strășeni police were notified about the accident at 13:53. "On the scene, the police determined that the driver of the BMW brand car, while speeding on the R1 road near Lake Ghidighici, lost control of the steering wheel, drove on the opposite lane, then crashed into a tree. The car flipped over after the impact", said Silvia Vetcu.

The IP Strășeni spokeswoman added that the intervention of the vehicle extrication team was requested. "As a result of the impact, the 18-year-old driver died on the spot, while the other passengers suffered minor injuries", said Silvia Vetcu, who also notified the press that law enforcement officers are conducting an investigation in order to determine all the circumstances of the accident.
