The branches that fell as a result of the mid-April snowfalls and were taken to temporary storage places and those from the territory of education institutions are to be taken away until September 1. In parks, woods, public gardens, squares and from arteries, the branch collection process is to be completed towards the end of the year. The deadlines are stipulated in a draft decision that was approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on July 26, IPN reports.
Under the decision, the managers of companies, municipal divisions and services and district head’s offices will set up intervention teams of 10-15 employees and will send these, together with two-three trucks, to collect broken branches inside quarters and from the managed areas.
The district head’s offices are to remove the temporary vegetal waste storage places by September 1. The Green Areas Association will collect broken branches and trees in parks, woods, public gardens, squares and from arteries until December 31. The Chisinau Emergencies Division and the police inspectorates are to monitor the temporary storage places so as to prevent fires.
In the meeting, the leader of the Socialist group on the CMC Ion Ceban proposed taking a decision to enable the inhabitants of Chisinau who need branches to come and take these from storage places so as to solve the problem faster. His proposal was accepted. The councilor noted that if the problem of branches is not solved within 10-15 days, the Socialist group will prepare a draft decision to dismiss those in charge.
Deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu said the situation is now the most difficult in Botanica district. He assured that all the branches will be collected at least from the territory of education institutions.
