The fourth “Days of Creanga” event, organized in duplex in Iasi and Chisinau, will take place between March 1 and 4, IPN reports.

According to the program, a student performance and a recital by actor Petru Cibotaru will be given in Iasi on March 1-2. A meeting with Moldovan writers and people of culture will be held at the Museum “Ion Creanga’s House” in Ticau, Iasi. A fact-finding visit themed “On the footsteps of Deacon Ion Creanga” will be organized to the Church “Forty Martyr Saints” and the Golia Monastery.

A roundtable meeting themed “Continuity and discontinuity in the literature for children” will take place at “Petre Andrei” University.  The Theater for Children and Youth “Luceafarul” will present the play “Danila Prepeleac” and the festival to award “Ion Creanga” Prizes.
 
In Chisinau, the events will be held on March 3-4. The Chisinau Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” will mount an exhibition themed “Ion Creanga and the world of his characters” near the Monument to Ruler Stephan the Great.

A performance-colloquium themed “Ion Creanga on the eternity waves” will take place at the Romanian Book Branch of the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga”. There will be opened the book exhibition “Inherited from Creanga”, which will have an online version.

On March 4, the Puppet Theater “Licurici” will host the 13th intelligence and creativity concert “Miss Smarandita 2014” that will involve 15 students from different lyceums and schools of Chisinau municipality. The literary event “Creanga – an endless tale” will take place at the Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga”.

The “Days of Creanga” are organized by the Ministry of Culture of Moldova, the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga”, the Museum “Ion Creanga’s House” and other institutions. The event will continue at the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga” until March 7, with exhibitions, contests, theater performances and other activities.
