Daycare for people with ASD to open in Chisinau

The Chisinau City Hall today voted to open a daycare center for people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), called ADIR.

ADIR will be a public facility that will take care of 25 adult ASD patients at a time, being the first of its kind to appear in Chisinau. The center will report to the Directorate for Health Care and Social Assistance.

The opening is in line with the City Council’s cooperation agreement with the “SOS Autism” NGO, signed in June 2023. It’s also part of a grant agreement within the framework of the project “Civil Society Organizations Act for Better Social Services”, funded by the EU and co-funded and implemented by Soros Moldova Foundation, in partnership with the NGOs Keystone Moldova and Institutum Virtutes Civilis.
