Writer Spiridon Vangheli is buried today, June 24. After the corpse will be brought to “Nicolae Sulac” National Palace, the writer will be buried at the Central Cemetery. Today was declared a day of national mourning in the country, IPN reports.

Starting at 09.40-09.50, the funeral procession will move from “Saint Theodora de la Sihla” Church to the National Palace. The funeral ceremony will take place between 10.00 and 11.30, while the mourning rally between 11.30 and 12.15.

At 12:30 p.m., the funeral procession will move to the Central Cemetery located on Armeneasca St, where the writer will be buried.

Spiridon Vangheli passed away on June 21 at the age of 92. By presidential decree, Monday was declared a day of national mourning. The state flag will be flown at half-mast in all the localities in the country, as well as in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad. At 12 noon, the memory of the writer will be honored by observing a moment of silence.
