Some 60 children and adolescents from Step-Soci village in Orhei district could spend two weeks in a gratis summer camp organized at the day center from the village, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the center’s director Elena Craciun, 15 teachers will take care and teach the children in the summer camp. The children will be engaged in recreational, sports and instructive activities. Children from socially vulnerable families and one-parent families, those that are invalids or are supervised by parent assistants from Orhei town as well as teens whose parents participated in liquidating the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe can spend the summer holidays in the camp free of charge. The day center is based in the house of the parents of director Elena Craciun. Staff from among the Step-Soci villagers were selected and trained for this project, which is financially supported by a religious organization. Forty-five teens spent the holidays in the summer camp organized at the day center in 2007.
