Date of second round of presidential elections will be set Friday

The special commission for the election of the President of Moldova will propose holding the second round of presidential elections on December 7, which falls on Monday. The proposal will be made at Friday's sitting of the Parliament. Such a decision was made at the meeting of the executive's Permanent Bureau on Wednesday, December 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the law, the second round of presidential elections must take place by December 10. Otherwise, the Speaker will dissolve the Parliament. The first attempt to elect the head of state on November 10 failed. The parliamentary group of the PCRM refused to take part in the voting. Marian Lupu was the only candidate for the presidency. He was pout forward by the Alliance for European Integration.
