Party funding, media ownership transparency, the package of anti-tobacco laws and the women’s political participation quota are only some of the legislative priorities of the autumn-winter session of Parliament. The priorities were discussed in a working meeting convened by Head of Parliament Igor Corman on September 22. It involved the Deputy Speakers and the heads of the parliamentary groups and permanent commissions, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, the meeting centered on the key bills put forward by the Government and MPs’ initiatives under legislative procedure. On September 24, the permanent commissions will hold meetings to examine the proposed bills. The same day, the Parliament’s Standing Bureau will convene to set the date of the legislative body’s first plenary sitting of the autumn-winter session and its agenda.
The Government submitted a list with 33 key bills that are examined within the specialized commissions and will be later debated in Parliament. Under an order made by the Speaker, the autumn-winter session started on September 8.
