The Ministry of Health and the International Organization for Migration Office in Moldova on February 13 launched the Health Human Resources Monitoring Information System, which is a complex mechanism for collecting, analyzing and reporting data about human resources in healthcare, IPN reports.
Besides collecting information about the number of health professionals and other personal data, the system will enable the Ministry of Health to manage the daily aspects of human resources, such as employment and mobility of health professionals, their flows, the posts approved and filled.
The database now contains 59,000 persons from the health system, including the private sector. Of these, 36,000 are medical workers. The database also includes information about the graduates of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacology “Nicolae Testemitanu” and of the five national medicine colleges.
The software for the system had been worked out since 2009 with the support of the International Organization for Migration and of the project “Better Managing the Mobility of the Health Professionals in the Republic of Moldova”, which is implemented by the World Health Organization and is financed by the European Union.
