Daniel Ioniță will no longer hold the post of Romania’s Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. A decree on his dismissal was signed by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis on February 4, IPN reports.
President Iohannis signed a number of dismissal decrees, recalling Romania’s ambassadors to Ukraine, Sweden, Turkmenistan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, with residence in Abu Dhabi, Oman, with residence in Riyadh, and also the ambassadors to a number of international organizations.
Daniel Ioniță was named Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova in July 2016. A career diplomat, Daniel Ioniță started work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania in June 1996. He also served as Romania’s Ambassador to Norway and as director general for strategic affairs at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
