The Republic of Moldova in Romania enjoys cross-party support, while the government program of the new executive in Bucharest includes projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the Moldovans, said Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau. On the National Day of Romania, the diplomat noted that the relations between the two states are heartfelt, IPN reports.
The ambassador noted the new Government of Romania led by Nicolae Ciucă prepared a number of projects intended for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. These are projects that can be developed between counterpart ministries for the benefit of the citizens and they further strengthen the warm relationship between Romania and Moldova.
In the program “Moldova Live” on the public TV channel M1, Daniel Ioniță took stock of the multiple projects financed by the governments of Romania in the Republic of Moldova, saying education and healthcare remain key priorities in Romania’s investment plans.
“There is no conditionality on the part of Romania as regards the equitable distribution of the assistance for the citizens. There are several excellence areas. The education sector is one of them. Romanian helped the Republic of Moldova to renovate over 1,200 kindergartens. Romanian funds are now used to build a new wing of the Romanian language lyceum in Comrat, where there are thousands of students who benefitted from scholarships paid with Romanian taxpayers’ money. The health sector is also a priority. Romania sent substantial assistance to the Republic of Moldova and a team of 42 persons. The first consignment of COVID-19 vaccine doses also came from Romania. In total, Romania donated over 506,000 vaccine doses to Moldova,” stated Daniel Ioniță.
The ambassador also said that the upper-level contacts between the two states were resumed. The President of Romania and the President of the Republic of Moldova had four meetings the past year. On November 23, during an official visit paid by President Maia Sandu to Bucharest, there were signed the roadmap for Moldovan-Romanian cooperation and an agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates of study and scientific titles.
