Romania and the Republic of Moldova will find dialogue modalities as their relations are based on a considerable sum of common values. This is the opinion of the Romanian ambassador to Chisinau, Daniel Ioniță, which was made public on "Fabrika" show, on Publika TV station, IPN reports.
Daniel Ioniță argues that the relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova have always been special and will continue to be so, for they are based on a solid foundation of history, culture and tradition and are strengthened by a strategic partnership to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova. "As long as in Bucharest and Chisinau we speak the same language and for me this language is called Romanian, I do not think we will not find ways for dialogue between the two capitals, especially since we have a whole series of projects which Romania carried out and completed in the Republic of Moldova. There are other projects that are underway and we want them to be finalized. Last but not least, it is the wish of many citizens of the Republic of Moldova and Romania to be together," stated the ambassador.
As for the petition launched in the Republic of Moldova regarding the replacement in schools of the "history of Romanians" with the "history of Moldova", the ambassador says that such an initiative does not bring clarity in citizens’ minds. The official has also added that the subject is being closely monitored by the Romanian authorities. "Any development in this respect will be carefully evaluated in Bucharest at any given moment. I think for a long time there has been a sort of wooliness about how to deal with these issues. However, when we talk about the history of Romanians, we also mean the history of the citizens of these regions,” explained Daniel Ioniță.
