Europe Day is marked in Comrat on May 17. The residents and guests will be able to visit the European Village set up in the center of the town, where there will be staged European dances and given lessons in the languages spoken in the EU member states, IPN reports.
According to the program broadcast by the EU Delegation to Moldova, the European Village will be open from 1pm until 5pm. The participating embassies will serve traditional dishes and will mount different presentations and contests.
Europe Day in Comrat will be officially opened at 2pm. The opening will involve officials who will make statements for the press. There will be staged a tour of the European Village.
A concert organized by the NGO “Pro-Europa” and the Culture Division of Gagauzia will be given between 2:30pm and 5pm. A public debate entitled ”Relations between the EU and Moldova: reforms, not geopolitics” will take place between 2:30pm and 4pm. Another debate titled “Identity in Europe’s diversity” will be held between 4pm and 5:30 pm.
The day will be closed by a concert with the special invitee Jamala from Ukraine.
