The ninth International Festival “Piano Nights in Moldova – the Black Sea” closes on July 6 with an exceptional concert held by Romanian pianist Dan Grigore together with the Chisinau National Chamber Orchestra directed by Master Misha Katz, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on July 4, Dan Grigore said he has not played in Chisinau for about 30 years, but returned to Moldova with pleasure. “Music is my great love, while the piano is the vehicle by which I travel through it. I never considered myself a pianist. I consider myself a musician - a person who feels in music like the fish in water because this is the environment where he lives,” said the master. Conductor Misha Katz told the same news conference that in the cooperation with Dan Grigore, whom he has known for many years, he reached a true symbiosis that not always exists between a conductor and a soloist. He also said that Dan Grigore is his favorite soloist and one of the few accomplished pianists, stressing he is happy that the artist accepted the invitation to perform in Chisinau. French Alliance deputy head Adrian Cebotari said the Alliance has organized the festival for many years and the Piano Nights represent an important event in the musical cultural program of Moldova. The final concert will be given at the Organ Hall on July 6, starting at 8pm.
