Dan Dungaciu’s book “Who are we? Chronicles from east to west” was recommended to electoral competitors

The best part of the book “Who are we? Chronicles from the East to the West,” signed by Romanian researcher Dan Dungaciu is about us, the citizens of Moldova, those present at launching the volume in Chisinau on Tuesday, February 17, Info-Prim Neo reports. The author of the book thanked publishing house Cartier and specified that namely the problem of identity, approached in a great measure in the work, is the basis of building Moldova. “The problem of identity is real, dealing with the inter-war period to present, about which little was written and spoken. I tried to ask a fair question: “Who are we?,” in order to get a good answer,” Dan Dungaciu said. “This collection comprises many books about the problems of our damaged space, it is a real mirror of our present situation,” writer Ion Hadarca has remarked. “The book “Who are we? Chronicles from the East to the West” answers the questions of the politicians across the Prut, who are Basarabians. I recommend the candidates, launched in the electoral campaign of 2009, to read this book to be able to answer the most painful questions of our people,” Ion Hadarca added. Literary and political critic Vitalie Ciobanu remarked that Dan Dungaciu is an living author as he invites the public to serious reading. “The author’s points of view are very precious. The compartments of the book create disputes and high thoughts,” Vitalie Ciobanu said. Political analyst Oleg Serebrian, who was present, spoke from the point of view of an ordinary reader, highlighting that the work contains many assertions that are worth thinking of. “It is hard to speak briefly about an imposing book both in volume and contents. Dan Dungaciu is a polyvalent author, he is one of the few authors across the Prut, who tackles the Basarabian subject, approaching it with equidistance,” Serebrian emphasized. The independence of Moldova – from whom?, What is hidden behind the “war of the language?, ”What support does NATO have in Moldova? Transnistria? – are some questions Dan Dungaciu attacks in the book “Who are we? Chronicles from the East to the West.” The book has recently been launched in Bucharest, at the bookstore “Eminescu,” with the participation of many personalities from Romania and Moldova, and ex-president of Romania Emil Constantinescu was among them. Dan Dungaciu is the main researcher at the Institute of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Romanian Academy, a doctor lecturer at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance of the University from Bucharest and he worked as an associate researcher in various western institutions. He is the author of many specialty studies and many profile works.
