It is highly improbable that the pro-European parliamentary parties of Moldova will reach a consensus and will invest a government, Dan Dungaciu, director of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Romanian Academy, said in the talk show “Place for dialog” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

“The situation in the Republic of Moldova is like a vehicle going towards a precipice. There are several drivers in the cab, but none of them wants to turn the car, leaving the others to do it. The political stalemate faced by the country can inevitably lead to a fall, but each one is waiting for something,” stated the expert.

Dan Dungaciu said that he does not see the possibility for the Moldovan politicians to learn from the recent experience of Romania, where a technocratic government was invested. “It would be the ideal solution and it is too nice to be true. The situation in Chisinau is different form that in Bucharest. I do not see conditions for such a project to be implemented in Moldova too. The parties from Moldova’s Parliament have different views and strategies. I think none of the pro-European parties wants early elections. If a consensus is reached, it will be reached with great difficulty,” he stated.
