Dan Balan did not take money from City Hall for Chisinau’s Day concert, Lucia Culev
The head of the Chisinau Culture Division Lucia Culev considers the behavior of the journalists who speculated about the sum spent by the City Hall for organizing the Chisinau’s Day is incorrect, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the October 18 meeting of the City Hall, Lucia Culev said that before criticizing the reporters should better think that the holidays must be observed and many people felt honored and even happy to take part in the event. Many of the artists who sang in the Great National Assembly Square on Chisinau’s Day did not ask for remuneration. “Irina Loghin, Dinu Iancu Salajanu and Dan Balan did not take money from the City Hall, saying it was a pleasure for them to sing for the Moldovan spectators,” she stated.
In this connection, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said this year Chisinau’s Day cost the City Hall less than the previous years as the event was staged in concert with a number of companies, which covered the costs for setting up the scene, installing the lights and for the fireworks display.
The festivities on Chisinau’s Day were organized at a cost of about 1 million lei.
