Damian Hancu: I believe culprit will be never punished
Damian Hancu, one of the young persons who was beaten during the April 2009 protests, said the intentional postponement of the hearings shows the trial will end without identifying and punishing the culprit, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Damian Hancu issued a press release, saying he is sorry that the offender is still at large one year and nine months after the crime was committed and he, as a victim, suffers unbearable moral and physical pain every day.
A new hearing was to take place on January 13, but it was put off as the representative of the Ministry of Finance did not examine the materials of the case. “This shows that he was summoned unexpectedly, without being notified beforehand so that he did not have time to prepare himself for the hearing,” Damian Hancu says in the press release.
Damian Hancu is a witness in the case of the former deputy police commissioner of Chisinau Iacob Gumenita, who is accused of misconduct in office during the April 2009 events.
