A new basketball court is ready to be used by the students of the Dacia Lyceum in Chisinau. The municipal Directorate for Housing and Public Amenities says that the works involved installing the playing surface and the furniture and renovating the sidewalk. The city budget allocated around one million lei for this.
Elsewhere in the municipality, the rehabilitation of football pitches at seven schools is ongoing. These are the lyceums Universul, A. Ioan Cuza, Olimp, Petru Zadnipru, George Meniuc, Dante Alighieri and A. Pushkin.
The Directorate has also set up five mini-football pitches in the courtyards of apartment blocks at the addresses: Sarmizegetusa, 10; Muncești Road, 326; Doina, 104/2; Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard, 28 and Alba Iulia Street, 93. The work on the last two was recently completed.
The companies carrying out the works are selected following tender procedures. The money is allocated from the municipal budget.
