Rehabilitation works on the segment of Dacia Boulevard from the Chisinau Airport to the entry to the suburban town of Singera have been postponed until spring after the Municipality found flaws in a protective layer covering the road under repair, Info-Prim Neo. Efim Cheptanari, the director of the municipal roadworks enterprise Exdrupo, told the City Hall's meeting on Monday that the protective layer, technically known as bituminous coating, was found to be damaged on parts of the road. The contractor explained it was spoiled by the rain that fell the next day after it was applied. Since the rehabilitation works are covered by a one-year warranty, the contractor is to remove all the flaws at its own expense, but in order to avoid further spoilage the contractor said the repair should be postponed until spring when the weather is fairer. The repair is part of a joint Government-Municipality road rehabilitation project. Initially the municipal authorities set the deadline for the Boulevard's repair until August 15, and then it postponed it until the City Day on October 14.
