Customs Service to be assisted by UNCTAD
The Customs Service of Moldova will cooperate with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in order to modernise and develop the Integrated Informational Customs Service of Moldova. UNCTAD will provide upon demand and free of charge the most recent version of the software ASYCUDA WORLD, the functional and technical documentation of the most recent version. This provision is included in the Agreement Memorandum between UNCTAD and Moldova on the development of the Integrated Informational Customs Service of Moldova, recently signed in Geneva.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, UNCTAD will also provide to the Customs Service strategic and technical assistance in the field of customs procedures, trade facilitation, development and implementation of the Integrated Informational Customs Service of Moldova in compliance with international and European standards and requirements.
Also, it was agreed on performing on a regular basis an exchange of information on the evolution of ASYCUDA WORLD, strengthening and developing the Integrated Informational Customs Service of Moldova, as well as on the periodic revision of the strategic issues related to the integration and implementation of the customs systems at national, regional and international levels.
The Agreement Memorandum was signed for a period of five years and will come into force after all the internal procedures are fulfilled by Moldova.
