Customs Service steps up vet control to avoid swine flu
The Customs Service has intensified the sanitary-veterinary checks on goods in order to prevent the spread of swine flu in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A general technological scheme was established so as not to affect the movement of persons and goods. It allows the units of transport, goods and persons to more quickly cross the state border, increasing also the efficiency of the border control, the press service of the Customs Service has said.
Besides increased customs control over the goods of animal origin, rooms will be outfitted at all the border crossing points to interview the persons suspected of having swine flu and isolate the infected persons.
The customs office heads stepped up the sanitary-epidemiological measures to protect the personnel, especially the customs officers working at border crossing points.
Under the legislation, the goods subjected to sanitary-veterinary inspection or phytosanitary quarantine cab be taken into or out of Moldova through the motor border crossing points Sculeni-Sculeni, Leuseni-Albita, Giurgiulesti-Galati, Giurgiulesti-Reni, Otaci-Moghiliov-Podolck, Briceni-Rososeni, Criva-Mamaliga, and Tudora – Starokazacie.
