Curtianu will continue to coach Moldova U21
Alexandru Curtianu has become the new official head coach of the national youth football team of Moldova. The decision was taken on Monday, December 9, by the Executive Committee of the Moldovan Football Federation, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Curtianu has been interim coach during the last two matches against Portugal and Poland in the Euro 2013 qualifiers after Sergiu Chirilov’s resignation.
The U21 team will take part in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic Countries Cup in January.
In 2010-2011, Curtianu was Gabi Balint’s assistant at the senior team.
At the same meeting, Moldovan international Oleg Fistican has been appointed head coach of the U17 side and Romanian coach Danut Oprea will take charge of the U19 team.
