Current government managed to ensure economic stability, not yet development, opinion

The current government managed to ensure economic and social stability, but the situation concerning development is much more difficult, political analyst Anatol Taranu stated in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

“The Government here had more drawbacks and a few accomplishments. These accomplishments could not imprint the element of development to the Moldovan economy and the social sphere,” said Anatol Taranu. He noted the Republic of Moldova has a good Prime Minister as this this managed to stabilize the situation, but he expects that Pavel Filip will also ensure development. The case of the mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor is a serious shortcoming of the current Government.

Intellect Group director Ian Lisnevschi said the Government switched over from the period of stability to reforms in 2017 only. “We cannot see the results immediately, in a month or two. These will be felt in 2018-2019. The same is true about the people’s confidence in this Government as figures show one thing, but it is the people who should feel these reforms,” he stated, noting there are yet many shortcomings in the executive’s work, but the fact that the Government moves on and tries to communicate with the people is a very important thing.

Political commentator Andrei Andrievschi said he considers the Filip Government is rather efficient. At foreign level, there were restored the relations with the partners from the European Union, the United States of America and with the International Monetary Fund and this is a proof of the success of this executive. Among the achievements at the national level are the modification of the pension system, the GDP growth, the reduction in the average rate on loans and the rise in budget revenues.
