Current electoral campaign saw fewer violations than previous one, Interior Ministry
The number of infringements committed in the present electoral campaign was four times lower than in the previous electoral campaign, the head of the Public Order Division of the Ministry of the Interior Petru Corduneanu told a news conference on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Ministry of the Interior for July 29 adopted a plan of action for maintaining public order in the 1,954 polling places set up in Moldova,
500 police officers will ensure public order at the polling stations. By a deputy police commissioner and two assistants will monitor the electoral process in every district.
The sale of alcoholic drinks near polling places on the election day is banned. “The persons that will break the rules of selling alcoholic beverages will be sanctioned according to the law,” Corduneanu said.
Twenty-three violations were identified in the current electoral campaign, as against 89 in the previous campaign.
