Cultural projects to be financed from state budget can be submitted by December 8

Cultural projects for which one can get financing from the state budget for next year can be filed by December 8 this year, Minister of Culture Monica Babuc announced in a news conference, IPN reports.

Since 2010, the state has covered a part of the costs of cultural projects. “In 2010, there were financed projects to the value of 700,000 lei. In 2013 and 2014, the allocated sums came to 2 million lei a year. There is growing interest in this kind of financing on the part of public associations. In 2010, the public associations presented 19 projects, while in 2014 - 76, 38 of which got financing for 53 projects,” stated Monica Babuc.

The minister added that given the increasing interest and number of projects, the regulations concerning the allocation of financial support had to be amended. “The list of required documents was supplemented. The project submission and examination deadlines were reviewed. The new regulations provide that the announcement for the submission of projects will be made by August 1, while the projects can be presented by October 31. As the changes have been made this year, the deadlines will be modified and projects could be submitted since the publication of the regulations on the Ministry’s website until December 8. We invite the associations to consult the regulations, to meet the conditions and to present projects,” said Monica Babuc.

The results will be announced by December 25. The financing for one project cannot exceed 50% of the cost or 100,000 lei.
