Cultural-historic buildings to be revamped till year-end: authorities promise

A number of historic-cultural buildings from Moldova will be revamped till the year-end, the authorities promise. Some of them already have the respective projects, as other projects are being developed, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique issued by the presidency. At a sitting on Wednesday, Sept. 24, attended by the President, Culture Minister Artur Cozma “spoke on the situation of revamping the quarters of Theater Eugene Ionesco, of Opera Theater, of Luceafarul Republican Theater, of the Philharmonics, of the Fine Arts National Museum, of the Alexandru Donici Museum House, of the Lazo family's mansion and other building of cultural and historic importance from our country”. More projects are being developed to renovate other institutions, as the Drama Theater on Trandafirilor street in Chisinau, reads the release. They are to start repairing the roof of the Organ Hall, “which is to end by the year-end”. The 35-year-old stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater is being repaired. On September 12, the director of Eugene Ionesco Theater, Petru Vutcarau, told a news conference the repair work of the theater's building were to end till later in September, but they did not even start. Then the Culture Minister said he did not know when the revamp works were to start or end.
