The German Institute “Goethe” in Bucharest handed over the accreditation certificate enabling staging German language courses in Moldova to the Center “Akzente”. The Center provides German language courses for adults and children and is the promoter of the German language and culture in Moldova, IPN reports.
“The “Goethe” Institute set the task of establishing quality standards for teaching German all over the world. Therefore, besides the internal quality management system, there was developed an accreditation procedure for the Institute’s partners from abroad. The goal is to create a network of accredited partners that will implement the common German language teaching standards. The document guarantees the quality of courses, qualified teachers and a good infrastructure,” said the director of the “Goethe” Institute Evelin Hust.
In 2007, when the Center was set up, the participants in the German language courses totaled ten persons a year. Now this figure stands at 400 a year. “Starting with today, the Center can issue linguistic certificates of the Institute, which are recognized at international level and are highly appreciated. This is an important component of our intense and friendly relations. The contacts between politicians and diplomats, no matter how intense these are, remain abstract if they are not based on a solid feeling of friendship and mutual interest between the people. The cultural exchange, especially the learning of the language, is the best method to ensure this,” said Germany’s Ambassador to Moldova Ulrike Knotz.
“We are glad that a powerful wave of German culture came to this country with very powerful francophone traditions. This culture influenced decisively the universal culture, first of all by philosophy and literature. I’m confident that the void of German culture in Moldova will be filled through the Center “Akzente”,” said Minister of Culture Monica Babuc.
Founded in 2007, the German Cultural Center “Akzente” in Chisinau is a public association that aims to promote the German language and culture in Moldova. The German language courses are intended for all the categories of people.
