Culinary surprises at Moldexpo
The main food retailers and catering companies met Tuesday at Moldexpo at the fourth exhibition Shops&Restaurants. The visitors can see food technologies and equipment, plates and dishes, kitchen furniture made by famous producers, products for making sausages, soft drinks, candies, packing, price displaying systems and supports for informative materials, Info-Prim Neo reports
The exhibit includes an international gastronomic championship that brought together 11 teams of cooks from nine countries. The teams will compete in two categories: art class and individual practical class. The championship was organized by the Ministry of Economy, the Moldova Culinary Catering Association and the company Aeroport Catering.
Calina Palitu, chef at Aeroport Catering, said the offer of the Moldovan team of cooks will be special and unforgettable for gourmets. The team includes cooks who took part in international and national competitions. “The number of participants is higher compared with the first exhibition. Competition is stiff. The jury consists of specialists from Cyprus, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine. We hope that by our national dishes, Moldova will become well-known in the participating countries,” Calina Palitu said.
Other contests include the Meal Aboard, Golden Chef of the Year and the Best Restaurant in Moldova.
