Cucumber prices at market twice higher than a week ago

A kilogram of cucumbers at the market costs between 13 and 15 lei, which is almost twice more than last week, when these sold for 7-8 lei. Tomatoes can be bought for at least 9 lei, as opposed to 7 lei last week. A kilogram of bell peppers costs 10 lei and up, as against 9 lei a week ago. Eggplants are sold for 10 lei/kg, as last week, IPN reports.

The price of a kilogram of capsicums is 15 lei and up, as a week ago. Vegetable marrows as sold as earlier for 8 lei/kg. Potatoes are sold for 6 lei per kilogram, while cabbage for 3-4 or even 5 lei/kg. Parsley, dill and green onion tops cost 4 lei a bunch, as last week.

Plums can be bought for 10 lei/kg, as opposed to 13 lei/kg a week ago. The prices of other seasonal fruit have decreased. Grapes are sold for 9-10 lei, as opposed to 12 lei/kg last week. Peaches cost 10 lei/kg, in contrast to 12 lei/kg earlier.

Ten eggs can be bought for 13 lei. A kilogram of butter costs 45 lei. Sour cream is sold for 35 lei/kg and up. Cow milk cheese costs 50 lei, while sheep milk cheese 70 lei. A kilogram of beef can be bought for 70 lei, while of pork for at least 80 lei.
