The so-called legislation on the development of blockchain information technologies has been canceled by the alleged Tiraspol authorities. The provisions, which also refer to cryptocurrency farms, were in force since 2018, and the reason for the annulment is said to be the energy crisis, IPN reports.
The regional media reports that the proposal for the repeal comes from the Tiraspol leader. According to Vadim Krasnoselski, the need is motivated by the energy crisis and instability in the energy and economic spheres.
"Given that we now have certain limitations on gas volumes, all this affects the amount of electricity, which we can generate for the domestic market. Therefore, the task has been set that this law should be canceled so that we can clearly plan and forecast the amount of gas we can receive, the amount we need, to generate electricity for domestic consumption of the population," said representatives of the so-called Supreme Soviet.
On January 31, in Tiraspol, "a disposition" was published, signed by the so-called premier of the region Alexandr Rozenberg, prohibiting the supply of electricity to residents of the free economic zone of blockchain development.
When it was decided to supply gas, purchased with EU support, to the Transnistrian region, Chisinau made it clear that it was to reach citizens and social goals, not crypto farms.
