Crowdedness at poling place in Moscow was staged, CEC secretary

The crowdedness before the polling place established inside the Embassy of Moldova in Moscow was organized on purpose so as to cause the impression that the Moldovan authorities violate the people’s right to vote, the secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Andrei Volentir said in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

According to Volentir, that crowd that blocked traffic in front of the embassy dispersed immediately after the appearance of video cameras. It’s clear that someone staged those events, especially because not all the 3,000 ballots at that polling place were used. They wanted to create an artificial argument for not validating the elections,” he stated.

The CEC secretary also said that the accusations concerning the violation of the Moldovans’ right to vote, made by the Party of Socialists, are groundless. “I think that after the results of the vote of the Moldovans in Russia were presented, this party’s arguments for not validating the elections were dispelled, especially because 72% of the voters in Russia chose the Electoral Bloc “Moldova’s Choice – Customs Union,” he noted.

Volentir reiterated that the parliamentary elections were held in accordance with the law and the accusations made by the Socialists and the Communists, who demand that the CEC president, should resign, are unfounded. “We are accused of the malfunctioning of the electronic voter registration system, but we counted the votes not based on the results from this system, but on the official records signed by all the members of the electoral bureau of the poling place, which are stamped. Everything is correct. The quality of the voter rolls this year was also higher compared with the previous elections,” he stated.
