A 23-year-old Criuleni man has been arrested on charges of child abuse, the General Police Inspectorate said.

The man is suspected of contacting boys under 14 of age through social networks and of molesting at least one of them.

According to the investigation, the suspect would meet the boys near their homes as they returned from school, then he would invite them into his car which he would park in some secluded place.

The suspect was already convicted earlier this year of child pornography and got a non-custodial sentence, which the prosecutors have appealed.

The police are advising parents to regularly check their children's Internet activity to keep them away from sexual predators.
