Cristian Rizea stripped of Moldovan nationality, to be extradited to Romania

Romanian citizen Mihai (earlier Rizea) Cristian Luigi was arrested by investigation officers of the Criminal Investigations Division of the National Investigation Inspectorate and will be extradited to Romania. According to the Police, the citizen has been searched through Interpol channels for being arrested and extradited since March 19, 2019 so that he serves four years and eight months in jail in Romania for influence peddling, money laundering and influencing of statements.

By a decree signed by President Igor Dodon today, he was stripped of Moldovan nationality. He reportedly acquired the nationality by illegal ways in 2018 and a probe was launched to determine those circumstances.

On his Facebook page, Cristian Rizea posted a lawsuit filed by him against Igor Dodon and the Public Services Agency. By that document, he asks to reject the decree as illegal.
