Cristian Diaconescu to arrive in Chisinau tomorrow

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Cristian Diaconescu will pay an official visit to Moldova on January 31. It will be his first official visit since he took up his duties, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The Romanian official will have a meeting with his Moldovan counterpart Iurie Leanca. The two ministers will give a joint news conference. Cristian Diaconescu will also meet with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Karpov and Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. The discussions will mainly focus on the bilateral cooperation priorities and the possibilities of developing the cooperation relations given Moldova’s aspirations for European integration. The Romanian minister will confer on issues of common interest from the regional agenda. He will also take part in the inauguration of a new wing of the Consular Section of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau. Cristian Diaconescu was invested as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romanian on January 24, 2012. He had held the same post in December 2008 – October 2009.
