Crisis makes “Made in Moldova“ exhibit more compact

This year's edition of the “Made in Moldova” exhibition will be more modest owing to the economic crisis. A part of the traditional contests will be kept, while the others abandoned, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Economy Ministry's press service. The organizational committee decided to cut some of the solemnities, but make the participation of the companies more efficient by ensuring a cost-advantage ratio. It also decided to modify the style of the event by increasing the number of roundtable meetings. A special meeting for businessmen will center on the economic recovery and stabilization program for 2009-2011. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, the head of the organizational committee, said the Trademark of the Year and the Quality Mark contests should be continued, but the Best Taxpayer contest should be left off as the economic entities are awarded for observing the legislation, not for achievements. The national exhibition “Made in Moldova” will take place between January 27 and 30, 2010. The participating company will exhibit their products in the three pavilions of the international exhibitions center Moldexpo. Only 50 producing companies announced their participation so far, as against about 400 economic entities in the same period the previous years. The exhibition has been held since 2006 under the auspices of the Government of Moldova. Traditionally, the exhibit is visited by delegates from Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey and other countries.
