The electricity consumption in the Republic of Moldova was fully covered in the last two days of 2024, without resorting to emergency contracts, the Government informed. For December 31, the main sources were the Kuchurgan Power Plant – 31% and Termoelectrica – 25.95%, IPN reports, referring to the governmental platform "First Source".
The rest of Tuesday's consumption was covered by S.A." CET-Nord" – 4.29%, the state-owned enterprise "NHE Costești" – 0.76%, from renewable energy – 6.85% and from imports (RO/UA) – 31.1%, according to “First Source”.
"Energocom" said the electricity consumption on the first day of 2025 is fully covered, but with a significant contribution from Romania’s OPCOM.
In the natural gas and thermal energy sector, the situation is stable, with no major incidents, the authorities announced. At the same time, in the Transnistrian region and in the security zone, Tiraspoltransgaz stopped the supply of gas and heat in a series of localities.
