A crisis cell was set up in Otaci town to manage the situation after the stair of a nine-story apartment building fully collapsed in the evening of June 19. An emergencies commission held a meeting in the morning of June 20 and decided to restrict access to the damaged building so as not to endanger people’s lives, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the area will be secured by the police and an ambulance team will be permanently on guard at the scene.
It was ordered to clear the area near the building of trees so as to prepare the demolition works. Twelve vehicles and 45 recurs were dispatched to the scene.
Yesterday evening, 46 persons, 11 of whom children, were evacuated before a part of the building collapsed. No victims were reported.
