Criminal case started over hooliganism at Chisinau City Hall

The Centru Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that a criminal case was started over acts of hooliganism committed by a group of people who broke into the Chisinau City Hall on November 3 and blocked the activity of the local public authorities, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The law enforcement bodies established that the protesters blatantly violated the public order, had an aggressive behavior and neglected the requests of the police officers maintaining public order. They entered by force the City Hall and insulted the employees, threatening them with physical abuse and splashing water on them.

The case is investigated by the Centru Police Inspectorate of the Interior Ministry’s General Police Inspectorate.

On November 3, a number of veterans who are members of the public association “Movement of Transnistrian Refugees” picketed the City Hall and then entered by force the meeting hall. The veterans are dissatisfied that they cannot become owners of the apartments they received from the authorities.
