Prosecutors started a criminal case over the insecticide poisoning at the lyceum of Cuizauca village. These will investigate the actions of decision makers of the lyceum and of the Rezina Public Health Center. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, these managed the incident inappropriately, IPN reports.
The prosecutors said decision makers of these institutions didn’t take appropriate measures to remove the consequences of the accidental spread of the toxic substance in the school. Also, the students were allowed to return to classes too early and 36 students suffered insecticide poisoning.
On March 3, a student broke out of inattention a bottle of insecticide BI-583, which was transmitted to her by her aunt. After inhaling insecticide vapors, 20 students of the lyceum were taken to the district hospital and the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau with poisoning.
Immediately after this case, the Rezina Prosecutor’s Office started a criminal case over violation of the rules of keeping and transporting pesticides or other chemical substances, which created dangers of considerable damage to the population’s health.
