The Cricova mayor’s office invites everyone to the cultural events that will be staged on the town’s day celebrated on May 22. On this occasion, the residents and guests will be able to see the first anthem, flag and coat of arms of Cricova town.
Mayor Valentin Gutan has told IPN that the anthem, flag and the arms were designed in accordance with a decision of the Cricova Town Council, with the consent of the National Heraldic Commission. The anthem’s text was written by Radmila Popovici-Paraschiv, while music by Marian Ungur. The coat of arms and the flag were created by Doctor Silviu Tabac and painter Mariana Slapac, who is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
“A sum of 24,000 lei was allocated for recording, playing and adapting the anthem, while 6,000 lei for the arms and the flag,” said the mayor.
On the same occasion, the oldest inhabitants of the town, aged over 90, will receive financial assistance. In the evening, national singers and artistic groups will give a concert in the center of the town. The concert will end with fireworks. The mayor of Chisinau and senior government officials were invited to the event.
Cricova has about 11,000 residents.
