CReDO recommends parties to improve anticorruption proposals included in election platforms

The Resource Center for Human Rights (CReDO) calls on the election contenders to improve their anticorruption proposals incorporated in election platforms, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the quoted source, the political parties lay emphasis on the administrative anticorruption policies. 30% of the anticorruption activities included in the election platforms are aimed at increasing the responsibility of civil servants, 13% – at strengthening the control bodies, 16% - at ensuring transparency in the use of public finances, 8% - at combating organized crime. CreDO says that there are no anticorruption policies in a number of areas like: healthcare, social sphere, education, fiscal sector, police and customs. Therefore, the Resource Center for Human Rights recommends the political leaders to pay special attention to the policies aimed at fighting conflicts of interests, increasing transparency in public contracts and decision making, combating crime and to the policies on mass media. CReDO is a nongovernmental organization that promotes democratic changes.
